Ironically, the defense of intellectual property is the bone that Food, Inc. has to pick with Monsanto in Food, Inc. Reviews of the film state Kenner depicts our company as a bully that prevents farmers from saving “their own seed” after harvest, and that Monsanto lawyers pick on farmers until they are broke or put out of business.
Food, Inc.: Did Monsanto decline to participate?
Recently, I sat down to watch Food Inc., a film by director Robert Kenner and marketing firm Participant Media. I was anxious to see the film because it included my company, Monsanto. What I saw was a claim that Monsanto declined to participate in the film however Monsanto didn’t decline to participate.
