We do welcome comments on posts published at Beyond the Rows. And we do receive comments, but we generally publish few of them. There are reasons for that.
First, you should know all comments are moderated.
Second, we have some ground rules for all comments, and they’re straightforward.
No profanity. No matter how thoughtful or in-depth a comment might be, we don’t allow profanity. Comments submitted with a profanity (or more than one) are automatically deleted.
No personal attacks or threats. Disagreements are fine; attacking a writer or individually, or making a threat against the company or an employee, is not. Personal attacks are deleted. Threats are forwarded to appropriate authorities. We understand that people can have great passion around issues and concerns, but one can be passionate without a launching a personal attack or making a threat. (We don’t receive many of these.)
Stick to the subject. Beyond the Rows is a blog about Monsanto’s people businesses, products, and activities. It’s not a forum to post a link to a favorite video on YouTube, or a post at some other site that a reader might think “tells the real shocking truth” about the company. There are numerous other forums one can use for that.
These same guidelines apply to our corporate Facebook page as well.
