A number of Monsanto customers have received significant recognitions in the past several weeks.
Farmer Hank Rabb was named Louisiana Farmer of the Year by the LSU Ag Center, Louisiana Network, Louisiana Farm Bureau and the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry. Hank, who lives in Waterproof, La., grows cotton, soybeans, corn and wheat on 5,000 acres. Delta Farm Press interviewed Hank about his operations.
The Fertilizer Institute honored five farming operations as “4R Advocates” for their dediction to the 4Rs of nutrient stewardship — “utilizing the right nutrient source at the right rate, the right time and in the right place.” The five are Bruce Favinger of Minden, Nebraska; Paul Loyer, Loyer Farms, Marion, Ohio; Temple Rhodes, Chestnut Manor Farm, Centreville, Maryland; Barry and Dan Turner, Turner Brothers Farm, Mer Rouge, Louisiana; and Todd Welch, Lafayette, Indiana.
